Dr. Rinaggio graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology. He then enrolled in the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. After graduating in 1995 he began a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at SUNY at Buffalo, earning a Certificate of Proficiency in 1998. He completed a Fellowship in Oral/Head and Neck Pathology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1999. Dr. Rinaggio joined the Department of Pathology at UTHSCSA as a Clinical Instructor, and was a member of the Surgical Pathology staff at the Audie L. Murphy Veterans
Administration Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. He earned a Master of Science degree from SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2000 after joining the faculty of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey as an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
In 2013 he completed a residency in Endodontics at UMDNJ, and joined the faculty at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine as an Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences, and an Associate Professor of Endodontics in the Department of Endodontics. He was adjunct faculty in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at UMDNJ—New Jersey Medical School, and also had a faculty appointment in the Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. He was a member of the International Visiting Faculty of Sibar Institute of Dental Sciences, Guntur, India. Dr. Rinaggio is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. He has given many lectures and presentations on oral mucosal pathology and jaw lesions both nationally and internationally. He has authored numerous abstracts and journal articles. Dr. Rinaggio also practices pathology and is an attending pathologist at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, New Jersey.
