Dr. Shin grew up in South Korea and Canada, where she completed her undergraduate studies in Engineering Science at the University of Toronto and graduated with honors. After working in the financial industry for a few years, she found a true calling to become a dentist and returned to school to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. During her time at Columbia, she received Dr. Thomas and Arlene Connolly & Family Scholarship and was awarded an Academy of Operative Dentistry Award for excellence in her restorative works. Her dedication to restoring teeth subsequently led to her interest in the field of endodontics, which is at the forefront of saving teeth and relieving patients of acute dental pain.
Pursuing her passion for endodontics, Dr. Shin continued her education at Columbia University to complete a post-graduate Endodontics Residency. Her clinical research focused on surgical management of teeth with cemental tears for which she won the AAE/Endo1 Partners Resident Award for her Table Clinic Presentation at AAE Annual Meeting.
Dr. Shin is a board-eligible endodontist and a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, and Hudson County Dental Society. Dr. Shin strives to take a compassionate and patient-centered approach to provide quality endodontic care to her patients. Outside the office, she enjoys fine dining, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her two sons.
